Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Community Acupuncture, Cupping Therapy &
Gua Sha
Ed is a licensed acupuncturist and member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).
He came to Chinese medicine in his early twenties, through a period of stress and anxiety that drew his attention to the relationship between body and mind, and to acupuncture as a practical way of working with it.
That inquiry took him to Shandong, China, where he studied Chinese medicine, Tai Chi and Qi Gong — practices that continue to inform how he works in the clinic.
Ed has over two years' experience working with cancer patients in a busy cancer clinic in Kent, supporting people across a range of diagnoses and stages. In March 2026, Ed ran a community clinic in Kerala, India, treating more than 500 patients over a space of 2 weeks — for many, their first experience of acupuncture. With little shared language between practitioner and patient, he worked largely through the palpatory side of Chinese medicine — reading the pulse, palpating the channels and the body — to assess each person's condition and treat accordingly.
COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE
Community acupuncture is shared, multi-bed treatment in a calm communal space. Far from a modern innovation, it is closer to how acupuncture has been practised for thousands of years: as everyday medicine, woven into the life of a community rather than reserved as an occasional luxury. Ed's work, both in London and abroad, is part of an ongoing effort to return acupuncture to that root.
